Maciej Stryjkowski ”The inscription on the grave of… Grehor Chodkiewicz” and his model. Editing texts and result connections

The article consists of a short introduction and editing two editions the forgotten vernacular epitaphs written in early 1570s. They were created by Cyprian Bazylik, composer, writer printer, Maciej Stryjkowski, future historian Sarmatia. Both associated with literary circles Grand Duchy Lithuania, however epitaph Bazylik honors Paweł Secygniowski from Małopolska, while Stryjkowski’s poem commemorates Grzegorz Chodkiewicz, Vilnius castellan Lithuanian Hetman. comparison both works brings out not only features poetic technique, but also reveals his patterns demonstrates imitative practices. Moreover, document circulation texts Kochanowski’s times, to whose poetry neither nor Stryjkowski refer.
